Acupuncture & Integrative MedicineAcupuncture is a form of traditional Chinese medicine that uses needles to stimulate specific points on the body to generate a particular response. Acupuncture can be used alone or in combination with other forms of treatment, and can be used to treat a wide variety of conditions, from poor performance and musculoskeletal issues to internal medicine complaints or behavioral concerns. It can also include electroacupuncture, which involves a mild electric current passed between pairs of needles to increase the level of stimulation. Herbal medicine paired with acupuncture can be beneficial in addition to western medicine difficult to manage cases.

Not only can it be used to examine a variety of regions of the horse, from tendons and ligaments to the lungs or reproductive tract, but it can also be used to guide treatments. In ultrasound-guided therapy, the ultrasound is used to visualize the area of interest and ensure accurate placement of the treatment being used.

Stall Side SAA TestingSerum Amyloid A, or SAA, is an inflammatory protein produced by the body in response to infection. Stall-side testing for SAA means that with a 10-minute blood test, the veterinarian can help differentiate infectious from non-infectious inflammation, or determine whether a sick horse is responding appropriately to treatment.
